November 2006

Congratulations to Christopher Kaeding, MD, Co-Director of OSU Sports Medicine Center, Medical Director and Co-Investigator for the NIH study “Prognosis and Predictors of ACL Reconstruction: A Multi-center Cohort Study” evaluating outcomes following Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction (ACLR). This multi-center study includes seven of the top orthopaedic research institutions in the United States: Vanderbilt Hospital for Special Surgery, Cleveland Clinic, University of Colorado, University of Iowa, Washington University, and Ohio State University. The overall goals of the study are to identify risk factors at the time of injury/surgery and estimate the magnitude of the effects of these factors on important quality of life and clinical outcomes (e.g., OA and additional surgery). We believe this to be the first multi-center Sports Medicine clinical outcomes research project funded by the NIH.
