OSU Sports Performance offers group and individual training programs in the areas of flexibility, mobility, strength, power, linear speed, multi-directional speed, conditioning, injury prevention, and recovery techniques.
Youth Program (Ages 8 – 11): The Youth Program is designed to provide a foundation for developing overall athleticism. Each 60-minute session offers instruction and training in balance, neuromuscular coordination, running technique, movement patterns, bodyweight strength, posture and flexibility. By introducing these techniques at this early stage in life, we can help develop motor pathways for athletic movements, reduce the risk for injuries and increase the chances for long term enjoyment of athletics.
Middle School Program (Ages 11 – 14): During this critical growth period, we emphasize the importance of developing neuromuscular coordination and the correct movement patterns needed to perform at a high level in sports. In our 90-minute sessions we focus on the fundamentals of speed development, change of direction technique, athletic movements, stability, balance and mobility. Weight lifting can safely be introduced with a focus on technique, not the amount of weight lifted. This serves to help improve coordination, stability, and increase joint integrity - an important component of injury prevention.
High School Program (Ages 14 – 18): Training at this level continues to focus on the fundamentals of overall athleticism and the mastery of athletic movement. As athletes progress, more advanced training methods are applied in these 90 minute sessions. The athletes are challenged by more difficult speed, acceleration, strength and power movements. With greater intensity comes the need for regeneration techniques and a continued focus on injury prevention.
High School Combine Training: Performing at a high level at combines, showcases and college camps can greatly improve an athlete’s chances for scholarship and walk-on opportunities at the collegiate level. Our Combine Training program is designed to elevate performance on all of the combine events: vertical jump, standing long jump, 40 yard dash, pro agility, L-drill, bench press and medicine ball power throws. This program complements any high school conditioning program.
College / Professional Athletes: At the elite level, a premium is placed on fine-tuning movement, regeneration, pre-habilitation, and improving performance on the field. For athletes looking for training to supplement their team’s strength and conditioning program, our staff can help devise a plan to improve upon any areas of weakness. Or if you are just looking for a place to train, our coaches can work with your institution’s strength and conditioning staff to ensure that you are following the program they have laid out for you.
Golf Performance Training: Customized to meet your goals, this program is based on results from the Titleiest Performance Institute Physical Screen and is designed to increase core strength and stability, increase power and explosiveness, increase hip strength and stability, improve balance and reduce risk of injury.
Team Training: Sports Performance coaches are available to conduct workouts for your team at your training facility or ours. Our staff will work with your team’s coaches to develop training goals and put together a plan to accomplish them. These workouts are highly organized, progressive, and have the added benefit that they can be customized to meet the needs of your team.
Adult Training: Whether you want to improve your golf score, prepare for the physical demands of your job, want to compete in recreation league sports, or just want to be healthier, our adult training program can help you reach your goals. These training sessions are fast-paced, challenging, and educational. Variety is a key component to this program to keep you motivated and looking forward to the next workout.
Consulting: The Sports Performance staff is available to help teams, schools, and organizations set up effective performance training programs. We can educate and train your coaches on any or all aspects of training and/or work directly with your athletes. Learn how to perform an effective warm-up before practice, learn new agility drills, understand the basics of speed development, Olympic weightlifting, or injury prevention exercises, our coaches can help you take your team/organization to a higher level.
